Piccolo protagonista, grande impatto.

SECRETS OF BUMBLEBEES

di/by Kurt Mündl – Produzione/Produced by Power of Earth Productions per/for ORF – Austria 2013 - Area trattata/Featured area: Parco Nazionale Alti Tauri e altre aree, Hohe Tauern National Park and other areas, Austria

We chose “Secrets of Bumblebees” as the best documentary because of the original way in which an unexpected story about the life cycle of bumblebees is told. This theme is not well-known to the general public. We are completely immersed in the scenery due to the enthralling environment shown to us and also because of the author's coherent choice of music and sound for this film. Maybe the best part of the documentary are the shots, because some of them were filmed in tiny cramped spaces, pushing the spectator to ponder the question: “How did they get those shots?”

The story is absolutely fascinating! Throughout the movie there are alternating moments of peace, tranquility and tension that keep you glued to your seat. For example, we see this in the scene in which the queen bee battles for and wins her very own place to reproduce in.

KALAHARI

AFRICA - KALAHARI

di/by Hugh Pearson – Produzione/Produced by BBC – Gran Bretagna / United Kingdom 2013 –Aree trattata/Featured Area: Deserti del Kalahari e del Namib, Kalahari and Namib deserts, Sudafrica/South Africa, Namibia
